PinyinIQ support

Support

Practical help for reading, camera, pronunciation, saved content and exports.

Local-first support

Start here

  1. Open Settings in PinyinIQ and review the in-app guidance.
  2. Confirm the app is updated to the latest available version.
  3. Close and reopen the affected screen after changing a permission.

Live Lens or document scanning

Open iOS Settings, PinyinIQ, then enable Camera. Return to PinyinIQ and reopen Live Lens. Use clear printed Chinese, steady lighting and the adjustable Single Line reading band for one line at a time.

Photo or document import

Photo import uses Apple’s private picker, so full photo-library access is not required. If a document does not import, try the original file or export it as PDF, DOCX, image, HTML, EPUB or plain text before importing again.

Pronunciation

Raise the device media volume and check whether audio is routed to headphones or Bluetooth. User-requested pronunciation is configured to play when the Ring/Silent switch is set to silent, but output volume must remain above zero.

Delete local content

  • Readings: Library, Readings, swipe left, Delete.
  • Cards: Library, Cards, swipe left, Delete.
  • Bookmarks: Library, Bookmarks, swipe left, Delete.
  • Glossary: Settings, Pronunciation glossary, swipe left, Delete.

Export anything you want to keep before deleting PinyinIQ. Removing the app also removes its remaining local Library and preferences.
